What does the relocation cost calculator measure?

The Digital Nomad Relocation Cost Calculator compares monthly disposable income before and after an international move. It adjusts gross income using editable effective tax rates, converts destination expenses into a base currency, amortizes recurring visa and flight costs, and spreads one-time relocation expenses across the intended stay.

What is the monthly cost-of-living offset?

The offset is destination disposable income minus current disposable income. A positive value means the modeled move leaves more money each month; a negative value means it leaves less. The result depends entirely on the tax, exchange-rate, and expense assumptions entered.

How is currency risk modeled?

The base scenario uses the entered exchange rate. The risk scenarios move that rate by the selected percentage in both directions. When the destination currency strengthens, each unit of base income buys fewer local units, increasing the destination cost when converted back to the base currency.

What is the break-even month?

When the destination produces a positive monthly offset, break-even is the one-time relocation cash divided by that monthly improvement. If the destination does not improve monthly disposable income, the calculator reports that the move does not break even under the entered assumptions.
