CNC, rainwater & science calculators

Calculate CNC speed and feed, rainwater storage, statistical sample size, and chemical dilution with visible formulas and editable assumptions.

CNC Machinist Speed & Feed Calculator

Enter cutting speed and chip load from the tool or material supplier. The calculator converts those values into spindle speed and linear feed.

Rainwater Harvesting & Storage Sizer

Estimate roof capture and size a non-potable reserve for an entered dry period.

Statistical Sample Size Estimator

Estimate completed responses for a proportion using confidence level, margin of error, expected proportion, and finite-population correction.

Chemical Solution Dilution Calculator

Solve C1V1 = C2V2 for a simple one-step dilution where stock and target concentrations use the same scale.

How are CNC speed and feed calculated?

Metric spindle speed is cutting speed times 1,000 divided by pi and tool diameter. Feed equals RPM times chip load times cutting edges. These relationships match Sandvik Coromant machining formulas.

How is rainwater capture estimated?

Roof area is multiplied by rainfall and collection efficiency. US units use 0.623 gallons per square foot-inch, consistent with the US EPA water reuse methodology.

Statistical and laboratory scope

What sample-size method is used?

The estimator uses the normal approximation for a proportion, described by the NIST Engineering Statistics Handbook, followed by finite-population correction and response-rate adjustment.

What dilution equation is used?

The one-step dilution conserves concentration times volume: C1V1 = C2V2. This equation does not determine whether substances are compatible or whether volume is additive.
